Fibromyalgia is a condition that affects you not only physically but mentally and spiritually as well. It can be very stressful to your emotional health and you need to take care of the emotional side of it just as you would treat the physical symptoms.

Some symptoms of fibromyalgia include:

•    Muscle pain, spasms or leg cramps
•   Insomnia or waking up still feeling tired
•    Always feeling tired and having little energy
•   Being sensitive to one or more of the following, light, sound, noise, odors, foods, cold and medicines
•    Dizziness
•    Headaches
•    Upset stomach
•    A feeling of anxiety or depression

The anxiety and depression, topped with the many physical symptoms that come with this painful condition is enough to cause mental anguish and emotional stress for anyone.

Tips for Mental and Spiritual Treatment

Here are some tips to help you get through the emotional aspects of this condition:

1.   Take it one day at a time.
2.    Set small, obtainable goals.
3.   Don’t put too much pressure on yourself.
4.    Set side some “quiet time” each day.
5.   Don’t forget to laugh.
6.    Get plenty of rest at night.
7.   Have fun doing something you enjoy.
8.    Spend time with the ones you love.

When you live day to day with a condition like fibromyalgia, you need to learn not to worry about the things which you can’t control and focus on those things that are in your reach. Remember that this is a major life-changing condition and it calls for many lifestyle changes. It’s okay if you don’t feel like you are adjusting quickly. Just take it one day at a time.

Try to keep things positive as much as possible and talk “positive talk” to yourself when needed. You will notice you feel much better mentally and spiritually when you relax and let loose some of the pressure.

If you think you may have fibromyalgia, you want treatment and you want it fast. If you have only recently be diagnosed, you might be wondering, where do I go from here?

You are not alone in this battle with this painful condition. To know if you need fibromyalgia treatment, you first need to know if you have the condition. The symptoms of fibromyalgia can vary but below are some common symptoms people experience. If you have a few of these, you may have fibromyalgia.

Some Fibromyalgia symptoms include:

•    Insomnia or waking up still feeling tired
•   Upset stomach
•    Dizziness
•   Headaches
•    Muscle pain, spasms or leg cramps
•   A feeling of anxiety or depression
•    Always feeling tired and having little energy
•   Being sensitive to one or more of the following, light, sound, noise, odors, foods, cold and medicines

Below are five steps for you to follow towards your own treatment plan.

1.    Get a diagnosis. Step one toward fibromyalgia treatment is to recognize that you have it. If you think you may have it but have not yet been diagnosed, there are resources you can use to make sure you get a confirmed diagnosis.

2.    Research. Take some time to find as much out as possible about fibromyalgia and available treatment options.

3.    Ask a doctor’s advice.
See what sort of treatment plan your doctor wants you on and then follow those instructions perfectly.

4.    Change your diet. An adjustment in diet can make a massive difference in how you feel. If you want to reduce your symptoms, chances are you need to change what you eat.

5.    Change your lifestyle. Now is the time to make lifestyle changes.

Hi everybody,

Here is a video that I posted on YouTube that discusses Fibromyalgia amongst men. It talks about how a lot of men don’t come forward about their illness and wasy for them to cope.

I hope that you get some useful information from this video as well as all of the other fibromyalgia vidoes I have created.

Please feel free to give me any comments or suggestions as I’m always on the lookout to give you more quality information and improve the information that I’m giving.

Fibromyalgia Is Not Just a Female Disease.

While 9 out of 10 fibromyalgia sufferers are women, men still get the condition as well. The downside to being a man with the condition is that there is not as much support for men with chronic pain or fibromyalgia.

There is also a stereotypical belief that men are supposed to be “tougher” and not complain over pain. This can make it emotionally harder for a man who is suffering for the condition. It is thought that the actual number of men with fibromyalgia may be higher but we don’t know because they often go undiagnosed. They come forward with their pain a lot less for fear of judgment.

Change in Lifestyle

Once being diagnosed with fibromyalgia, there may be need for a big change in lifestyle. Many men are very physical people and this will increase their pain and symptoms from fibromyalgia. It can even affect their jobs if they work in a hard labor profession or even a tedious profession such as something that requires typing a lot.

The symptoms of fibromyalgia can cause a man to have to change his lifestyle.

Some fibromyalgia symptoms include:

•    Muscle pain, spasms or leg cramps
•    Insomnia or waking up still feeling tired
•    Always feeling tired and having little energy
•    Being sensitive to one or more of the following, light, sound, noise, odors, foods, cold and medicines
•    Dizziness
•    Headaches
•    Upset stomach
•    A feeling of anxiety or depression

Therapy/Support Groups:

Men with fibromyalgia can benefit from psychological support for:
•    Stressful life conditions
•    Prolonged pre-diagnostic phase
•    Depression and/or anxiety
•    Abuse histories
•    Adjustment issue to chronic illness
•    Poor support system

If you are male and have fibromyalgia, you do not have to suffer alone. There are treatment options available to you. There are even support groups plus more to help you get both the moral support and the general information that you need.
