If you think you may have fibromyalgia, you want treatment and you want it fast. If you have only recently be diagnosed, you might be wondering, where do I go from here?

You are not alone in this battle with this painful condition. To know if you need fibromyalgia treatment, you first need to know if you have the condition. The symptoms of fibromyalgia can vary but below are some common symptoms people experience. If you have a few of these, you may have fibromyalgia.

Some Fibromyalgia symptoms include:

•    Insomnia or waking up still feeling tired
•   Upset stomach
•    Dizziness
•   Headaches
•    Muscle pain, spasms or leg cramps
•   A feeling of anxiety or depression
•    Always feeling tired and having little energy
•   Being sensitive to one or more of the following, light, sound, noise, odors, foods, cold and medicines

Below are five steps for you to follow towards your own treatment plan.

1.    Get a diagnosis. Step one toward fibromyalgia treatment is to recognize that you have it. If you think you may have it but have not yet been diagnosed, there are resources you can use to make sure you get a confirmed diagnosis.

2.    Research. Take some time to find as much out as possible about fibromyalgia and available treatment options.

3.    Ask a doctor’s advice.
See what sort of treatment plan your doctor wants you on and then follow those instructions perfectly.

4.    Change your diet. An adjustment in diet can make a massive difference in how you feel. If you want to reduce your symptoms, chances are you need to change what you eat.

5.    Change your lifestyle. Now is the time to make lifestyle changes.
